Hubbe Garden lets you pin virtual name tags on your plants using your phone’s camera (augmented reality). This policy explains, plainly, what happens to your information. In short: there are no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking, and your garden stays on your device.
An app for labelling and keeping track of the plants in your garden. You create plant tags, notes, photos, and care history; the app shows them to you in a live camera view and on a map. We (the developer) run no servers and receive none of your content.
Your garden — plant names, varieties, beds, gardens, sowing trays, planting and care dates, notes, care history, app settings, and any photos you attach — is stored only on your device. We never receive it. If Android device backup is turned on, this data may be included in your encrypted Google backup like any other app’s data, under Google’s terms.
To remember exactly where in your garden each tag belongs, Hubbe Garden uses Google’s ARCore Cloud Anchors service. When you place a tag — and again when the app finds your tags on a later visit — visual data derived from your camera images (patterns of points and edges, not viewable pictures) is sent to and processed and stored by Google to save and restore the tag’s position. Google keeps this anchor data for the lifetime of the anchor (at most 365 days), after which it expires automatically. This processing is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy; Google also documents ARCore data handling at developers.google.com/ar/data-privacy.
The app has no access to your location, contacts, or files.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data. We collect no analytics, run no ads, use no tracking identifiers, and have no servers of our own. Crash information, if any, is written to a file on your own device to help diagnose problems and is never transmitted. The only data that ever leaves your phone is the Cloud Anchor visual data sent to Google described above, plus — if you choose to use voice input — speech handled by your phone’s own speech service under that service’s privacy policy.
Delete any plant from its detail page, or use Settings → “Clear all plant tags” to erase everything at once. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Hosted anchor data at Google expires automatically when the anchor’s lifetime ends (at most 365 days).
Hubbe Garden is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no personal information from anyone.
